Bio

“Los Púa Abajo” is an instrumental tango duo made up of guitarists, arrangers, composers and music teachers Ángel Colacilli and Leandro Coratella. Created in Buenos Aires, Argentina at the end of 2007 and with more than 15 years of experience, they are characterized by the strong personality of their guitar sound and by their innovative original compositions, which seek to create a new repertoire for the instrument.

They have 5 albums released. The last two (Nuevos Tangos Guitarreros Vol.I and Vol.II) stand out for being conceptual, integrating a pedagogical/musical project in order to expand the tango guitar repertoire and encourage new generations of musicians to create their own style - without losing the roots of the genre and at the same time contributing their own influences and experiences. The “Nuevos Tangos Guitarreros” are also accompanied by sheet music books with complete transcriptions. As part of the project, which has been supported and financed by the National Fund for the Arts of the Argentine Republic, they carry out workshops and classes in different public and private musical institutions, as well as at festivals.

Throughout their career, they have shared the stage and accompanied numerous artists from the Buenos Aires new tango scene. They have recorded albums in collaboration with other important musicians of tango and the music of the Río De La Plata, both in their own projects and as guest musicians.

They have also made three European tours (2016/2017/2024), performing on important stages and milongas in seven countries (Germany, Spain, France, Holland, Italy, Belgium and Switzerland) and giving tango guitar workshops for professional and amateur musicians in Many cities.

They have participated in prestigious International Tango Festivals in Buenos Aires and Europe such as the Buenos Aires Tango Festival and the Granada Tango Festival (Spain) among others.

Currently, they are recording what will be their next album “Lenguaje Tango”, which will be released at the end of 2024. In this project, the search is to “translate” music by Frank Zappa, Johann Sebastian Bach, Charles Mingus into their own versions. , Charly García and Francisco Tárrega (among others) to the language of tango.
